Memorial Day weekend is the busiest weekend of the year at Arches and Canyonlands.
We expect extreme traffic and crowding in the parks and in Moab. We recommend that you avoid entering the parks between 9 am and noon.
Wait times to enter the parks may exceed one hour. Plan to enter the parks later in the afternoon or evening.
Inside the Parks • Expect heavy traffic, crowded trails, and limited parking. • If the parks reach overcapacity, we may restrict access and not let in new cars until there is room.
Entering Arches National Park •
There will be no left turn lane into Arches for southbound traffic on US 191—the only way to enter the park will be via the northbound lane from Moab.
